About 5 yrs ago my husband and I were threatened with a foreclosure on property that we had not owned for 20 yrs. It was a town house that we allowed the new buyer to assume the loan from us on. Our real estate agent assured my husband that after 5 yrs. there would be no financial risk to us. We were also assured that when the buyer sold the townhouse again she would not allow the same loan to be assumed (it was a much different time in the financing world). The long and short is that the buyer did pass the loan on as well the next buyer until someone along the way defaulted. But because we were the original loan holders, guess what. Yes, the buck stopped with us. After consulting an attorney we were concealed that the best course of action would be to go to the courthouse to re buy it back (by this time the townhouse is in really bad shape and pretty much section 8 property that someone in our position would be stuck with). So I did the only thing I knew to do. I prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet over and over and over. Right up even on the steps of the court house as we were waiting for our name to be called and our name was never called. We were shocked, our attorney was shocked.... The attorney made a phone call to the bank to find out what had happened and found out that literally minutes before the list of name was sent to the courthouse someone came forward and bought the townhouse. I know that some would say coincidence, but ...My husband and I are both convinced it was Divine Mercy.
